The Start of Something Big

I know most people start these things on the first day of the month, but I thought I would be daring and start it on the last. I know, I'm a rebel. Anyway, I never thought I would do one of these, but now that I have Sofia, well, things have changed. (That's an understatement!) For all of you interested in Sofia's progress (plus mine), then this blog is for you.

As of today, Sofia is about 11 weeks old, give or take a day or two. She is awesome. Now that I'm past the sleepless nights, early days of painful breastfeeding, and utter lack of knowledge, I feel like I'm finally getting the hang of everything.

I won't lie, those first few weeks were probably the scariest times of my life. The fact that you're caring for a whole other person is beyond scary. Plus, poor Ryan had never really handled a baby before. (I was lucky, I grew up with Logan.) Still, I would do it all over again ina heartbeat. I lucked out and had a pretty easy pregnancy. I only gained about 7 pounds. (I tell everyone I lost all of my college beer weight in the beginning.) I loved being pregnant. And now I love being a parent even more!
